The worries we hear most, and what we do about them

There just are not enough hours.

Fewer hours, better spent

A diagnostic shows which topics carry the most marks for the least effort. The plan works through those first.

Every week looks different.

The timetable moves with the sport

Early mornings, evenings, rest days, hotel rooms. Lessons are online and move around fixtures and camps.

School and the academy do not talk to each other.

One report, shared with everyone

A written report after every lesson that you can send to school or academy education staff.

What a lesson looks like

Short, focused, and built to travel

  • Timed around training. A default slot, moved when the calendar changes. A hotel room works as well as home.
  • Straight to the marks. Each lesson targets a topic from the priority list, so nothing is taught for the sake of it.
  • Practice in short blocks. Twenty to thirty minutes on Exceed Prep, on the coach if needed.
  • Everyone in the loop. A report after every lesson, shareable with school and the academy.
How we adapt

Built around the season, not the school bell

Athletes cannot study for as many hours as their classmates, so the hours have to count and the timetable has to bend.

A plan you can see

A plan the whole team can see

The diagnostic shows where marks are being lost. The plan puts limited study time there first, and the reports keep parents, school and academy on the same page.

How it starts

Three steps to get started

01

A consultation

Twenty minutes with our team. Bring the training calendar and the exam dates.

02

Tutor match and diagnostic

A specialist per subject, and a first session that finds where the marks are going.

03

A plan that moves with the season

Lessons, short practice and reports every week. Fixtures move, the plan moves with them.

Our commitments

What every family gets

Same tutor every weekSomeone who knows the athlete and the schedule.
Lessons move with the calendarFixtures, camps and travel are planned around, not fought.
A report after every lessonShareable with school and academy staff.
Exceed Prep platformPractise answering exactly as examiners want.

Exceed Tutoring provides supplementary one-to-one tuition alongside school or academy education. We are not a registered school and do not replace a school or academy education programme. Exam entries are made through the student’s school or an approved exam centre.

FAQ

Athlete questions

Can lessons move week to week?
Yes. We agree a default slot and move it around fixtures, camps and travel. Tell us the calendar as early as you can and we will plan the term around it.
Our child is with an academy that provides education. Is this still useful?
Usually as a supplement. Academy provision is often group-based and general; we add focused 1-to-1 teaching in the subjects where marks are slipping, and we can share reports with the academy’s education staff.
How many hours a week?
Most athletes run one to three hours of live tuition a week with a similar amount of short set work. The consultation agrees the hours and we adjust them around the season.
What about time zones or travel abroad?
Lessons are online, so a hotel room works. We schedule in the time zone the student is in that week.
